Every year around the time of early April to late May, we get many calls from prospective clients who are thinking about hiring a landscape architect to help them achieve the landscape they’ve always dreamed about. But that time of year is often becoming quite busy for both landscape contractors and designers like us, as well. If you can swing it, getting a head start on planning your project in late summer or early fall is one of the best things you can do. The next best time to hire a landscape architect would be in wintertime before the “construction season” kicks into high gear.
Even though you should feel comfortable to hire a landscape architect any time of the year to begin designing your project, some of the advantages to planning ahead and getting the ball rolling before spring and summer are:
- More time to work on the design phase and not feel rushed to jump to the construction phase to get plants in the ground before the ideal time window for planting closes.
- More time to choose a contractor that you are comfortable with.
- Better chance to get on the contractor’s list of clients before they are filled up for the season.
- Better choice of plants from the nurseries for your contractor to install.
Now that we are in the middle of the winter season, get a jump start on your landscape project and give us a call. We here at Outdoor Design Group love to help you achieve the landscape of your dreams!
